Birthday Party Places
Home or Away???
Before we get too involved in the Children's Party Planning let's take a look at some birthday party places that will suit the party you are going to throw.
Will the party be at home or in a hired venue?
Dare we first of all look at the option of having the party in your own home!!! Provided you have enough room having the party at home can save you a lot of work and money.
No transporting of food and presents. No cost to hire a venue. You can prepare everything in your own time. And the birthday child is in familiar surroundings.
Here are some tips to get the most out of your special day. * Make sure you clear enough space so all can 'party'. * And make sure you don't lose your finest porcelain. Anything you treasure should be out of harms way! Clear away anything that's breakable! * If prizes are going to be of the sweet variety and the children are going to be eating near a nice clean carpet and you want to keep it a nice clean carpet - Get some old sheets to cover it! * Plan where the children will play the party games and create an area where you can stand and organise the party games from. * Make sure the TV is off and stays off when you are trying to organise a party game or activity. Same applies for any other potential distractions. You will want the children's undivided attention! * Same goes if you have booked a children's entertainer (after all you are paying good money for the kids to be entertained). Make plenty of room for the stage area and at least a couple of feet between the entertainer and the audience. The stage area is usually best in a corner where there are power points so no cables trail across the room. And above all - topping your list of priorities in your children's party planning - check and double check for any other potential hazards!!! So what's your thoughts on having your children's birthday party at home? Are you up for the challenge of throwing your doors open to lots of little party people? Or are you now reaching for the local directory in search of some birthday party places to hire? Some of the best birthday party places to hire are local village or church halls. Or a function room of a hotel or golf club etc.
* The size of the venue largely depends on the number of guests. You don't want it too small you can't swing a kid (eh, sorry a cat!). At the same time too large and you're in danger of getting a few drifters, before you know it they are organising their own entertainment which normally starts with lots of running and ends with lots of fighting! * To avoid this, picture the party on the day. How many children will be there? You will want somewhere to prepare the food. Close by, enough room for the party food table. * Make sure there is enough space for the games & other activities planned. If using electrical equipment i.e. sound system for music etc. You will need to ensure you have power points close at hand. * If hiring an entertainer they would normally benefit from being near the plug points and ideally a corner of the room or against a wall so this can be used as a backdrop so that the little angels cannot circle him/her and attack from the rear! Also away from any doors or openings so that when performing the children are not easily distracted. * Try and look for birthday party places that are pretty central to where the majority of your party guests live & where possible a venue that has ample parking. That's just about enough on
